Overview:

Abstract: This diploma thesis deals with the investigation, conservation and restoration of the canvas painting "Dame mit Maiglöckchenstrauß" (1899) by the artist Maria Anna Wagener from the Stadtmusem Ibbenbüren. The painting in an upright format was once scaled down to an elliptical format. For this purpose, the edge parts were folded in and knocked over. The focus of the work is the evaluation of the historical intervention in the context of conservation and art history and the reconstitution into the painting’s former format.
