Abstract: | The pictures sequence in the “Gartensaal” at the manor house “Heltorf” in Düsseldorf-Angermund was build between 1824-1841 by four artists of the Düsseldorfer school of painting. The present condition of the wall paintings were caused by the (uneven) building construction and the early work of restoration. In order to repair the soiled damage of the wall paintings and its limited legibility, a preventive and inventive strategy of conservation must be undertaken. In conclusion to preserve the wall paintings, a damage-analysis is also necessary, along with cleaning and consolidation tests. Furthermore a long term monitoring system has to be elaborated. The aim is to create a better legibility of the paintings by using a LED based source from the company Brumberg. |
