Abstract: | Subject of this diploma thesis are five chinoiserie paintings. The main emphasis was put on the historical background, the examination and documentation of the painting support, the painting technique and the materials, as well as the survey of condition. Inferential was compiled an concept of conservation and restoration, what was used to one of the paintings. All tasks are described. The main focus were the comprehensive paint layer consolidation, the removal of synthetic self-adhesive tapes from the painting and the mending of tears. An theoretical thought was put on the mount and presentation of the painted textile wall covers. |
