Abstract: | In the center of this work the mass conservation procedure of the Neschen AG and its applicability on individual objects in small conservation workshops is discussed. For a meaningful investigation three different papers were selected, which corresponded in their chemical and mechanical characteristics to the papers, which must be frequently treated in the everyday life of a restoration workshop. The papers were treated with the preservation bath, the individual components and in the plant C 900 of the Neschen AG. Afterwards they were aged artificially in a changing climate. Subsequently, the untreated, the treated and the aged papers were examined for mechanical firmness, pH value, alkaline reserve, color change and the write-off- fixing effect and then the results were compared with one another. |
